Ksar Sghir
The little port between Tangier and Ceuta.
A small fishing port tucked at a river mouth, Ksar es-Seghir keeps its medieval walls facing the strait, halfway between Tangier and the great Tangier Med port.
A little history
A lock on the strait since the Middle Ages, Ksar es-Seghir was an embarkation port to Andalusia under the Almohads, then a Portuguese fortress in the 15th century. Its fortified remains still stand at the river mouth, facing Spain.
