Church of the Sacred Heart

About this place
The Church of the Sacred Heart stands in the Gautier district as an architectural manifesto of the 1930s. Designed by architect Paul Tournon, it boldly combines European modernism with Mediterranean sensitivity: two slender towers frame a light-flooded nave, where reinforced concrete traces pure, vertical lines. Deconsecrated since the 1950s, it has found new life as a cultural space.
Visitors come to admire its spectacular interior volumes, geometric stained-glass windows and that unique atmosphere where the ambition of an era still resonates. The venue now hosts exhibitions, concerts and cultural events that restore meaning to this 20th-century heritage. For lovers of modern architecture and all those seeking to understand cosmopolitan Casablanca, this stop in the city centre offers a striking counterpoint to the usual circuits.

Very beautiful deconsecrated church but which now hosts cultural events. Close to the magnificent parc de la ligue arabe. The visit is free and calming. Don't hesitate.

We passed by the Church of the Sacred Heart in Casablanca, but unfortunately it was closed, so we couldn't visit it inside. From what we could glimpse from the gate, it seems it now serves more as an exhibition hall than a church. It's still a magnificent building, with impressive architecture full of charm.

Shame that it has a bit lost its meaning inside
