About this place

Place des Nations-Unies marks the junction point between the historic medina and the new town of Casablanca. Lined with art deco buildings and architecture from the 1920s, it bears witness to the metropolis's colonial past whilst pulsating to the contemporary rhythm of its cafés, shops and constant flow of passers-by. The fountains and palm trees bring a touch of freshness to this mineral space crossed by thousands of Casablancans each day.

It's an excellent starting point for exploring the city's different neighbourhoods on foot, strolling towards the nearby medina or heading to Boulevard Mohammed V. The terraces invite you to observe the urban ballet, whilst architecture enthusiasts will appreciate the façades that tell a century of Moroccan history. An essential thoroughfare for understanding the plural soul of Casablanca.

Toujours vivante, elle relie parfaitement la médina au centre moderne de la ville. On y trouve des cafés, le tramway et une ambiance typiquement casablancaise. Agréable pour se promener et observer la vie locale, surtout en fin de journée.
