About this place
Perched in the Rif mountains, the medina of Chefchaouen unfolds its narrow alleyways painted in an infinite palette of blues, from cobalt to turquoise. This chromatic tradition, inherited from Andalusian refugees of the 15th century, transforms each step into a visual discovery. The whitewashed walls reflect light with a particular softness, creating a soothing atmosphere reinforced by the scents of mint and eucalyptus floating in the fresh air of the heights.
Wandering without a precise itinerary remains the best way to tame these places. Artisans weave wool in tiny workshops, fountains punctuate shaded squares, and café terraces offer welcome breaks. The medina appeals as much to photographers seeking light as to travellers looking for a different rhythm, far from the bustle of large cities. Bring comfortable shoes for the uneven cobblestones and sometimes steep climbs.

A pure marvel from the entrance to the Médina the tone is set.. Blue.. Blue.. And more blue, the walls, stairs, doors and various decors organised by the inhabitants for the pleasure of the eyes and for a few dirhams in a basket you immortalise the postcard. We didn't have too many people in this early June.

Very beautiful typical medina, known for its magnificent blue colours which give it a unique charm. Walking through its many alleyways, you discover small traditional shops with craftsmen and sellers generally very friendly.

No need to advertise it given its fame. Magnificent streets painted in blue sometimes on the entire alleyway. Beautiful photos to take. Also taking the time to discuss with some sellers is not only human but also very interesting. Some of them appreciate that you take this time of contact with them.

Inutile d'en faire la pub vusa renommée. Magnifiques rues peintes en bleu parfois sur la ruelle entière. De belles photos à prendre. Prendre également le temps de discuter avec certains vendeurs est non seulement humain mais aussi très intéressant.
