The Akchour Waterfalls

About this place
The Akchour waterfalls offer one of the finest nature escapes in the Chefchaouen region. Located in Talassemtane National Park, they are discovered along an invigorating hike that follows the Farda river, between rocky walls and pools of crystalline water. The path winds beneath pines and cedars, gradually revealing the great waterfall that unveils its impressive drop in a mineral amphitheatre.
Two routes are available to visitors: the small waterfall, accessible in forty-five minutes of easy walking, and the great waterfall, which requires approximately two additional hours on more rugged terrain. In summer, people bathe in the natural pools, picnic by the water's edge, and observe Barbary macaques in the trees. Families appreciate the first stage, experienced hikers continue on to the Bridge of God, a dizzying natural arch sculpted by erosion.
