About this place
Built in the 16th century under Saadian rule to monitor and protect the imperial city, Borj Sud stands proudly on the southern heights of Fès. This imposing pisé fortification, twin to Borj Nord which faces it, bears witness to the military architecture of the era. From its ramparts, the gaze embraces a striking panorama over the entire medina, a veritable sea of ochre and emerald green roofs, with the Middle Atlas mountains in the distance.
The visit allows you to discover the defensive architecture of the fortress and above all to enjoy an incomparable vantage point for photographing Fès in its natural setting. The ascent to the borj makes for a lovely walk, particularly appreciated in late afternoon when the golden light enhances the ancient city. An essential place for anyone wishing to understand the geography of Fès and keep a memorable image of the thousand-year-old city.

Merveilleux A visiter.
