About this place

Created over forty years, the walled ensemble consists of a labyrinth of intersecting pathways, intertwining levels and Moorish Art Deco buildings in bold colours. The garden is a gigantic and opulent collection of exotic plants and trees from the most distant lands, designed as both a sanctuary and a laboratory by French painter Jacques Majorelle from 1922. You can also discover the famous Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech and the Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts.

Exceptional garden, very well maintained and preserved. The visit follows a circuit marked out by guards who call you to order if you wish to stray from the path. The colours are fabulous, the coloured pottery adds a real plus. The paths are easy to use with a wheelchair or a pushchair.

The visit to Jardin Majorelle was a real favourite. This place is a real haven of peace in the heart of Marrakech. Despite blazing sun during our visit, the garden remains surprisingly pleasant thanks to the canopy of plants and trees which brings very appreciable freshness and loses a few precious degrees.
