About this place

Housed in the sumptuous Dar M'nebhi, this museum occupies a late 19th-century palace whose restored rooms bear witness to the refinement of Moroccan architecture. Chiselled stucco, painted ceilings and zellige ceramics compose a décor where every architectural detail tells the story of Marrakech's great families. The central courtyard, with its pool and subdued light, invites contemplation in a peaceful atmosphere that contrasts with the bustle of the nearby medina.

The permanent collections combine ancient manuscripts, Berber jewellery, coins and traditional textiles, whilst temporary exhibitions regularly host Moroccan and international artists. Visitors come as much to admire the works on display as to soak up the beauty of the place itself. Ideal for those wishing to understand Morocco's artistic evolution, from traditional arts to contemporary creation, in an authentic setting a stone's throw from the Ben Youssef medersa.
