About this place
This museum dedicated to the famous French couturier stands a few steps from the Majorelle garden, in a modern building with clean lines that evokes the weave of a fabric. The permanent galleries unveil a rotating selection of haute couture pieces, original sketches and photographs that trace the profound relationship between Yves Saint Laurent and Marrakech, a city he considered his second homeland. The architecture itself becomes a work of art, with its terracotta curves and plays of light that dialogue with the creator's Moroccan heritage.
The visit appeals to fashion enthusiasts as well as those curious about art and design. One discovers the collections through six-monthly rotation, explores the research library dedicated to fashion and browses in the bookshop-boutique. The auditorium regularly hosts conferences and screenings. Allow an hour and a half to fully appreciate the exhibitions and the atmosphere of the place, which is often combined with a visit to the neighbouring Majorelle garden for a complete immersion in the couturier's universe.
