Rabat pairs a blue-and-white kasbah, the unfinished Hassan Tower and the Chellah necropolis in a calm rare for a capital. Its gardens and seafront invite you to wander.

A little history

An Almohad imperial city, Rabat keeps from that ambition the unfinished Hassan Tower and the Oudayas kasbah. Capital of the kingdom since 1912, its medina and the Chellah archaeological site are UNESCO-listed.

  • Train Rabat-Ville & Rabat-Agdal Al Boraq high-speed, Tangier and Casablanca under 1 h
  • Bus & coach Coach station & CTM national links, plus a city tramway

The sea

Rabat-Salé beach lines the mouth of the Bouregreg; the Témara beaches stretch just to the south.
